USK, short for Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (eng. Self-Monitoring of Entertainment Software), is a rating board, which is used in Germany. USK ratings are similar to PEGI's, using the numbers to determine the age restrictions.
Age ratings
The games, companies of which that refused classification are listed on the List of media harmful to young people by the Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons. This process is known as indexing, upon which the titles may only be sold on request to adults over the age of 18, and are not to be advertised in retail stores or any other media. Therefore, the unrated games are treated like titles with a USK 18 rating.
