The concept of a platform resembling this Mario sprite divided into tiles was later used in [[Toy Time Galaxy]] from ''[[Super Mario Galaxy]]'' and [[Mario Squared Galaxy]] from ''[[Super Mario Galaxy 2]]''. The course's background also somewhat resembles that of the secret stages in [[The Secret of Ricco Tower]] and [[The Hotel Lobby's Secret]] from ''[[Super Mario Sunshine]]''.
