Domino and Cloaker appear to offset the respective weaknesses and strengths of the other - Domino is strong at magic attacks while being physically weak, whereas Cloaker possesses high physical attack and defense while having no use of magic. Upon Domino's defeat, Cloaker retreats and fuses with his pet snake, Earth Link. This effort, too, is futile, resulting in the quick and simultaneous defeat of them both. With the group now defeated, Mario and his party are able to progress.
