 Cranky is somewhat of a fatherly figure to Diddy. In DKC2 Cranky often complains about Diddy getting a starring role while he is stuck in a gloomy shed with no chair. If Diddy collects all the hero coins Cranky will call Diddy a true video game hero and comments that he must take after him and Donkey.

-Candy is one of Diddy's friends. In DKC she would treat him the same way she would treat Donkey. In the ending to DK64 Diddy Kong is seen showing off trying to impress her which apparently he does.

She also joined him in his quest to help Timber in Diddy Kong Racing DS. According to Diddy's Super Sluggers card he would stack his team with Dixie and Tiny any chance he got.
