Fake Blocks are enemies appearing in Super Mario 3D Land. They are dark brown Brick Blocks with a tail and white eyes representing an angry face.

Fake Blocks appear in plain grasslands and Airship levels. They appear alongside regular Brick Blocks, but are noticeable by their darker tone, along with the subtle shape of their closed eyes. If the player gets too close, it will reveal itself and jump after them, swinging its tail when it reaches them. They can be defeated with the swing of a Tanooki tail, a Ground Pound, or by jumping up and breaking the block, though the latter only works when it is not active.
