The '''Wikipedia Template''' creates a box that links to the appropriate page on [[wikipedia:Main Page|Wikipedia]].  This template is not original to the [[Main Page|Super Mario Wiki]], but rather was originally created for use on [[Wiktionary:Main Page|Wikitionary]] and has since been used on many other specialty Wikis such as our own.  The template is for use on articles which exceed our scope.  For example, [[Kirby]] only makes several appearances in the ''[[Mario (franchise)|Mario]]'' franchise, but makes many more in his own series.  This allows interested readers to expand their knowledge further.  Another possible use is on articles for subjects which are fictional versions of non-fictional subjects.  For example, one could place the template on both [[Earth]] and [[banana]].  However, the template should '''not''' be placed on an article that falls entirely in our scope, such as [[Mario]] or ''[[Super Mario Galaxy]]''.

The Wikipedia template creates a box that links to the appropriate page on Wikipedia.

Parameters

An optional first parameter is the article title on Wikipedia and an optional second parameter is the link display text. The template defaults to the current page title.

Usage

The template should be placed underneath {{NIWA}}, if present. If not, it should be placed at the top of the external links section if it exists, otherwise it should be placed at the top of the last main section (immediately underneath the second-level heading).
