The '''Black Dog''' is one of the nine [[List of items|items]] that can be purchased from the [[Item Shop (Wario Land 4)|Item Shop]] in ''[[Wario Land 4]]''. The Black Dog, like all the other items, can be purchased from the [[shop owner]], to assist [[Wario]] defeat a challenging [[Wario Land 4#Bosses|boss]] by doing a little bit of damage to the boss before the battle begins. It is one of the stronger items in the game, and it costs ten [[Medal (Wario Land 4)|medal]]s to purchase in Normal difficulty, fifteen medals in Hard difficulty, and twenty medals in S-Hard difficulty. When purchased, the shop owner will follow the player to the boss room. She will then transform into a black dog with a fairly large jaw, and bite the boss. After the damage has been dealt, the shop owner will then disappear, leaving Wario to fight a greatly weakened boss. It is the most effective item against [[Catbat]] and the [[Golden Diva]].
