Each time Donkey Kong was located by a participant, Nintendo donated one dollar to the {{wp|Animal Protection Institute}}'s Primate Sanctuary.<ref>Robert Graves. (November 11, 2005). In addition, an online, {{wp|Adobe Flash|Flash}}-powered game, ''[[Barrel-Blastapalooza]]'', was released on the Nintendo-hosted ''donkeykongcountry.com'' website to promote the game. The website's servers were eventually shut down along with the Flash game.
