'''Polar Pitfalls''' is the fifteenth level of ''[[Donkey Kong Land III]]'' and the third level of [[Blackforest Plateau]], where it is located in the northern region on the foothills of a tall mountain range. Polar Pitfalls takes place within a snowy tundra.

Unlike the previous snowy level, [[Black Ice Blitz]], [[Dixie Kong|Dixie]] and [[Kiddy Kong]] go through the level on foot rather than using a [[toboggan]]. The level features slippery slopes and the recurring snow-capped chalets. As its title suggests, Polar Pitfalls features several pitfalls that the [[Kong]]s must jump across, but the icy, slippery ground makes it harder. [[Skidda]]s are the main enemy in this stage, and there are also [[Buzz (enemy)|Buzz]]es and [[Krimp]]s located throughout. Near the end of the level, there is a pit spawning an indefinite number of [[Lemguin]]s, whose main appearance is in a later snow level, [[Tundra Blunda]].

In the [[Donkey Kong Land III#Time Attack Mode|Time Attack]] mode, unlocked after beating [[Baron K. Roolenstein]] in the [[Lost World (Donkey Kong Land III)|Lost World]], Polar Pitfalls appears again to represent "Snow" levels. It must be completed in less than 53 seconds.

At the beginning of the level, the Kongs run down a slippery slope and defeat some enemies. Jumping over a snow-bound house, they end up walking through a long pathway full of a few more enemies. After getting over another house, the group can find [[KONG Letters|the letter K]]. Farther on, the apes move around another snow covered house and run up a few more steep slopes. Once they both cross a few small gaps, they can find the letter O in the right side of another gap. After they get the letter and travel over a smaller gap, they move down to a low area, walking down some slippery, white hills. Eventually, they can make their way up a large hill to find a house. On it, they find the [[Star Barrel]].
