Regarding the manual, from what I can see is that those very much use a Unicode character, not an image, and that this article's name uses the one in the manual. :I'm considering typablility of the subject when linking from elsewhere. On a standard QWERTY keyboard with number pad in numlock mode, best you can do is Alt+3, and not many people know about {{wp|alt code}}s 0-255.
