:At the moment the OCR app is not working, hopefully by the end of the month a fix will come. Meanwhile you can see the names used in hte Encyclopedia Super Mario Bros. here, thanks to the great work of Vent. Since the debate over the Super Mario Sunshine Bullet Bills is quite heated, if needed I can post scans of the entries of the Encycloepdia Super Mario Bros. as well as of the Nintendo Official Guidebook of Super Mario Sunshine (that has just a single entry for all the Bullet Bills), so please ask if you need those.--Mister Wu (talk) 23:27, August 3, 2019 (EDT)

Wigglers
Hey Mister Wu, can you verify this edit here? (And while I'm here do you happen to own this guidebook?) 09:19, September 10, 2019 (EDT)
:I don't own that book, with a little luck you can find some useful info in the excerpts of the Nintendo Official Guidebook here. Plus I own the Japanese art book (The art of Super Mario Odyssey), if it can be useful for you - if you can wait, hopefully on November 5 we'll have the English version. Regarding the Mario's Character Assembly Picture Book, well, I'd need the actual Japanese name so I can check the book and possibly get it, if it is interesting for us.--Mister Wu (talk) 22:57, September 10, 2019 (EDT)
::Does the Japanese Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia say anything, 'cause I think the user might be referring to that under its full title. 23:19, September 10, 2019 (EDT)
:::Wigglers aren't in the bios of the EncyclopediaSMB - Characters pt1.jpg EncyclopediaSMB - Characters pt2.jpg, and on page 64 of the Encyclopedia Super Mario Bros. there's just the introductory information about Super Mario USA, the book the user was mentioning is clearly not that one, so we need to discover which book they might be referring to.--Mister Wu (talk) 00:03, September 11, 2019 (EDT)
::::Okay, thanks for that! 00:12, September 11, 2019 (EDT)
Cheep Chomp
I notice that Cheep Chomp is described as 「巨大なプクプク」, which is remarkably similar to the Japanese name of Boss Bass. Are there any other profiles you know of that describe Cheep Chomp as a giant-sized Cheep Cheep? LinkTheLefty (talk) 02:40, September 20, 2019 (EDT)
:Not that I know and own. I don't own the Nintendo Official Guidebooks of the New Super Mario Bros. games, and among the Mario character books that might contain Cheep Chomp, I only know and own the Encyclopedia Super Mario Bros., the Super Mario Pia and the Mario no Character dai Shūgō Zukan, the latter of which doesn't list Cheep Chomps, only the small Cheep Cheep variants, i.e. the Eep Cheep and the Spiny Cheep Cheep.--Mister Wu (talk) 23:20, September 27, 2019 (EDT)
Fire, Sumo!
Recently, Paper Mario: The Origami King included an explanation for Sumo Bro's Japanese name, K.K. - it stands for 「カミナリきょうだい」 (Kaminari Kyōdai, Lightning Brothers). I was wondering if you're aware of this being hinted at in any profiles since, to my knowledge, this is entirely new information. I'm also curious if any direct connection with Hammer Bro was brought up at any point (we do know of one source suggesting a similarity to Sledge Bro mentioned here). To a lesser extent, I'm also curious about this with Amazing Flyin' Hammer Brother, but not as much since it's still listed right after Hammer Bro in the Super Princess Peach gallery and has much more in common with Hammer Bro. Part of me thinks they were always supposed to be "Bros" but had the name dropped after the Hammer and Sledge Bros were removed from Super Mario World. :Since you asked in this section, I think you’re more interested in the current sources. The Super Mario Pia doesn’t mention this connection:
:しこを踏む横綱姿のカメ。『NewスーパーマリオブラザーズU』で22年ぶりに復活した。
:登場作品 SMW, NSMU
:The two older books I have, the Super Mario Bros. Daizukan and the Super Mario Zen Hyakka, don’t seem to add much:
:DAIZUKAN
:ZEN HYAKKA
:The Mario no Character Daishugo Zukan from Kadokawa and GZ Brain, the small but most recent encyclopedia, only groups the four Bros. seen in Mario Kart Tour together, Sledge Bros. and Sumo Bros. aren’t in the book.
:In none of the recent books aside from the Encyclopedia Super Mario Bros. the Amazing Flyin’ Hammer Bros. are listed. The two older books reconfirm the connection with the Hammer Bros., in the Daizukan they are actually mentioned in the bio of the Hammer Bros.:
:DAIZUKAN (Hammer Bro bio)
:ZEN HYAKKA
:While it’s likely that Sumo Bros. and Amazing Flyin’ Hammer Bros. were meant to replace Sledge Bros. and Hammer Bros. respectively, the books mainly acknowledge the latter connection, with the former only vaguely hinted in the Daijiten (and even then they seemed to rather refer to Sumo Bros. being the heaviest along with Sledge Bros.).—Mister Wu (talk) 00:09, August 4, 2020 (EDT)
Bonneter biologist
Hello, Mister Wu. I raised an issue here about the validity of the "Bonneter biologist" as a unique individual in Super Mario Odyssey based on text from page 67 of the English translation of The Art of Super Mario Odyssey. If you have the time, I was wondering if you'd be willing to present and translate the original Japanese text from this page to see if implies the same thing. I understand that nouns are not pluralized in Japanese, so this may be an error on the part of the English translators. (In case the pages are not 1-to-1 between versions, this text would be in the bottom right corner of the page that covers the design of the Bonneters, underneath a screenshot of a Captured Uproot and a male Bonneter in Steam Gardens.) -- Nintendo101 (talk) 21:50, December 25, 2020 (EST)
