I see that you are unfamiliar with wikisyntax in general, including templates. The {{tem|welcome}} template you edited affected other user talk pages that had the code <tt><nowiki>{{Welcome}}</nowiki></tt> in the edit box – it removed that message entirely whereever it was included. To remove it from ''just your talk page'', you should have removed the line <tt><nowiki>{{Welcome}}</nowiki></tt> from the edit box of User talk:Lord Crump, or this page.
