It is similar to World 9 from New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Superstar Road is a homage to the Star World from Super Mario World, while its name references the Star Road-esque portal used to access it. The portal is on an island in the borders of Layer-Cake Desert, Sparkling Waters, Frosted Glacier and Soda Jungle, and can only be accessed via a pipe after completing the game. This is the only world where two of the power-ups from New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Propeller Mushrooms and Penguin Suits, can be found. There are a total of nine levels in this world, eight of which are only accessible by collecting all the Star Coins from each world while the last one can be unlocked by completing all other Superstar Road levels with three Star Coins collected. | ||
