When the player kicks the shell, it ricochets away and rams into enemies, damaging them. But it will also hurt the player when it bounces back, just like an actual Koopa Shell. Using the item activates a minigame where the shell bounces around the screen, and the player must press wii while hovering over it with a crosshair. If the player succeeds, the shell grows to almost three times its original size, but if the player fails, it stays small.

To use this item, the player must aim the Wii remote at the shell and press A to supersize it. If the player misses, the shell will remain small during the attack.

If the player gives this item to Saffron to cook, she will make a Courage Shell.
