Long Jump is an event in the game, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. This event is available when the game is started. It is found in the "Field" half of the "Athletics" category in the game. The objective of the event is to jump as far as possible. This event mainly requires speed and skill.

Controls
This event is played using the Wii Remote held vertically and Nunchuk. The player has to move the Wii Remote and Nunchuk up and down alternately until the screen says "speed lock". As the player reaches the line, the player has to move the Wii Remote upwards fairly quickly to jump. Swinging too hard or soft will result in a bad jump. Swinging too hard results in making the player go high and not far, while swinging too soft results in making the player take a short jump. Timing just right will result in a good or great jump, depending on how close to the green line the player stepped. Stepping on or over the green line will result in Toad or Cream the Rabbit calling a foul. The player gets 3 trials per game. The best of the three trials will end as the player's final score. Timing is the key to this event.
