As neither the proprietor nor [[Captain Goomba (Mario & Luigi series)|Captain Goomba]] know what the Invincibility Mushroom looks like, the minions end up accidentally retrieving a Poison Mushroom instead, which is the reason Mario catches Bean Fever.
