Boo Barrels function identically to [[Blast Barrel]]s aside from the fact that they vanish and reappear every few seconds, similarly to the [[rope (ghost)|rope]]s of ''[[Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest|Donkey Kong Country 2]]''. Each Boo Barrel faces in a set direction, which determines where [[Dixie Kong|Dixie]] and [[Kiddy Kong|Kiddy]] get blasted to. The direction they face upon appearing is usually randomized, and thus, the Kongs will often have to time their entry just right to progress. They are also sometimes hazardous obstacles, as they can blast the Kongs into enemies. Such Boo Barrels must be passed while invisible.
