Template:Minigame-infobox You're the Bob-omb is a Duel minigame in Mario Party 8. Its name comes from the expression "You're the bomb". A similar minigame appears in Mario Party 2 and Mario Party 4 as Bowser's Big Blast and Bowser's Bigger Blast, respectively. Aesthetics-wise, this game is also similar to Mario Party 5's Defuse or Lose.

Introduction

Two Shy Guys in cranes will put two King Bob-ombs on stands on each side of the minigame's location. There will be five switches in front of each of the stands, with cables leading to the other side, and the two players will go on one of the sides.

Gameplay

This game is purely a game of chance.

The objective is to blow up the King Bob-omb on the other side. To do this, the players must press one of the switches in front of them to light the fuse. Only one of the cables is live, and the other four are dead. The players will both press the chosen switch at the same time, and the fuse will either stop just before the Bob-omb or go all the way. If it does, the Bob-omb on the other side will explode, which ends the game, unless both Bob-ombs explode or all of the dead wires are used, in which cases the game ends in a tie.

Ending

The loser is blasted into the air, falling into the ground upon descent, making a hole. The crane picks him or her up, while the winner performs his or her victory dance. If the game is tied, both players will do their losing animations.

In-game text

  • Rules"Hit switches until you or your foe finds the one that blows up Big Bob-omb. There's only one live switch!"
  • Hint"Finding the detonator is a matter of luck, so cross your fingers!"
