Yeah, the instructions are pretty complicated. Basically, though, making a sig isn't really that different than editing a page; everything works the same. Your sig should be located at either User:Yoshi Dudette/sig or User:Yoshi Dudette/signature and can be placed into talk pages by typing {{User:Yoshi Dudette/sig}} or {{User:Yoshi Dudette/signature}} depending on your choice for its title. All your sig really needs to say is your username and link to your user page (if you didn't know, you link to pages as follows: [[User:Yoshi Dudette]], which becomes User:Yoshi Dudette in pages; additionally, [[User:Yoshi Dudette|Yoshi Dudette]] becomes Yoshi Dudette), but of course there are lots of cool effects you can add. I'll just go through the basics: fonts and color can be changed a la [[User:Yoshi Dudette|<span style="font-family:Times New Roman; color:blue;">Yoshi Dudette</span>]] (which appears as Yoshi Dudette in articles), and images can be added like this: [[Image:Yoshi_Dudette.JPG|50px]] (tacking that onto the previous example sig makes it [[User:Yoshi Dudette|<span style="font-family:Times New Roman; color:blue;">Yoshi Dudette</span>]][[Image:Yoshi_Dudette.JPG|50px]], which appears as Yoshi Dudette).
