Revision as of 14:24, August 29, 2011
Note: My talk page is not a help desk for the wiki. See our help pages or contact another administrator unless there is a major policy concern or technical issue with the website.
Text replacement: Requests are valid when you've manually updated all templates and the number of mainspace links after doing so is at least 25.
Something wrong on the Forums
Today I got a message from someone on the forums and in the message box under the logo it says My Messages [1] and I replied to it already, it keeps saying I have a new message and there is none. The My Messages [1] won't ever change. I don't know what is wrong, can you help me? YoshiGo99

Dynamic Page Lists
They are gone.
Now since you've deleted (or was it because or MediaWiki uppdate?) some articles, including MarioWiki pages are now left with "Invalid tag extension name: dpl". Examples: Super Mario World (television series), MarioWiki:Personal Check/Personal Images. I hope you'll reinstall it. SWFlash
- It wasn't working after the update and was a little too heavy on the database. Let's see how we do without it. --Steve (talk) 10:05, 19 August 2011 (EDT)
- So, is there any hope that it will return? I'm asking, because Help:DPL is linked from most of the talk pages from welcome template, as well as being mentioned on Help:Contents. SWFlash
- I've removed those links. I'd really love for us to work around not having it so we don't need to add it again. --Steve (talk) 11:17, 19 August 2011 (EDT)
- Also broken stuff: MarioWiki:Changing username, MarioWiki:Pipe Plaza. Link that needs to be deleted: MarioWiki:Rules. Also, the Help:DPL needs to be either deleted or marked as "doesn't work anymore". SWFlash
- I've removed those links. I'd really love for us to work around not having it so we don't need to add it again. --Steve (talk) 11:17, 19 August 2011 (EDT)
Thumbnails
It seems the thumbnail for some of the large images (ex: this and one of the revision of this) does not display correctly. Mind investigating that? --Glowsquid 13:40, 20 August 2011 (EDT)
- I decided to revert back to using the MediaWiki default maximum image area for creating thumbnails: 12.5 million pixels or about 3500x3500. Reasoning is that this puts less of a strain on the server, and it's not like we're using images anywhere near this size on the actual article pages. I'll help resize and reupload. --Steve (talk) 14:33, 20 August 2011 (EDT)
Question
How did you get this whole (awesome) Porplemontage Enterprises idea? I'm curious. WikiofSmash"The EarthBounder" 20:02, 20 August 2011 (EDT)
- Well, I started picking up wikis with the formation of NIWA and wikis jumping ship from Wikia (as you know). "Porplemontage Enterprises" is just what I decided to call my collection of wikis since I wanted something like a portfolio to throw up on my porplemontage.com website. --Steve (talk) 20:32, 20 August 2011 (EDT)
Minor question.
Did you updated the wiki? Looks like the parameter cellspacing of the tables isn't working (unfortunately, that's the only error I've seen for now) and the galleries are no longer centered... do we have to center the galleries manually? Another question: why the collapsible boxes of my userpage doen't work? well, they do work only when I log in but not if I log out... is it posible to fix that? ¢oincoll€ctor
- I don't know why cellspacing wouldn't be working now; maybe you could link me to an example on that? The galleries would need the center tag to be centered, see Gallery:Super Mario Galaxy 2 vs. Gallery:Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. I fixed your collapsible stuff; it was a matter of clearing the cache for that page. --Steve (talk) 01:47, 22 August 2011 (EDT)
Oh, wait... I think I see the problem of the cellspacing. It seems that the thumbnail thing of the images inside the tables show them like that. No problem, I'll fix it myself and as for the collapsible tables in my userpage, thanks. ¢oincoll€ctor
Forum Update
Do you know how long it will be until the forum is working again? Yoshidude99
