| Character Name | My Rating | Character Thoughts
| Mario Universe
| Mario
| A well balanced fighter. Mario features a good set of KO moves, but the recovery isn't too impressive.
| Donkey Kong
| He has strength, but DK's moves are quite laggy apart from his Giant Punch. At least his recovery has good horizontal distance.
| Yoshi
| Yoshi does lack a lot of power, but he does have some quick moves. He also gets good height with his mid-air jump, but lacks a third jump to back it up.
| Luigi
| Bring in Mario's shadow, Luigi tries to play similar to his brother. He's decent, but his recovery methods require a lot of good timing to work right.
| Peach
| Peach does feature a good aerial game along with great recovery abilities.
| Bowser
| This raw power brute may be strong, but his sluggish speed does hinder his capabilities.
| Dr. Mario
| He's no different than Mario. The only difference is that his attacks pack more power.
| The Legend of Zelda Universe
| Link
| With a lot of long range weapons, it can be hard to approach Link. His attacks may not KO fast, but they can irritate the opponent at will.
| Zelda
| Zelda does pack some power in her attacks. However, some of those attacks need to be timed perfectly to work right.
| Sheik
| She may lack the power, but Sheik does know a decent number of moves that can rack up the opponent's damage.
| Ganondorf
| Ganondorf is pretty slow, but his nasty power makes up for it. In fact, he has the nastiest Meteor Smash in the game.
| Young Link
| Link's younger form is no different than his adult form. The difference being the strength of the sword attacks and the long range weapons.
| Metroid Universe
| Samus
| Samus is quite good when doing close combat. Additionally, her decent arsenal of weapons can surely mess up her opponents.
| Kirby Universe
| Kirby
| While Kirby does talk a good game, his best attacks have to be timed just right to deliver the most knockback. Also, despite of his 5 mid-air jumps, his mid-air speed is rather poor.
| Star Fox Universe
| Fox
| Fox is one nasty player. He features good speed and some good KO moves. His biggest problem is his recovery, which is hindered by his poor mid-air speed and his fast falling speed.
| Falco
| Like Fox, Falco also has some good KO moves. He also features an air attack that can easily knock out anyone trying to recover. Sadly, Falco's recovery is also pretty poor.
| Pokémon Universe
| Pikachu
| Pikachu does have some good KO moves, and its Thunder attack comes in handy when trying to stop opposing players from recovering.
| Jigglypuff
| It does have a good aerial game, but the ground game isn't too great. Rest may be hard to use, but it can wipe out opponents quite easily.
| Mewtwo
| Mewtwo may not have too many good KO moves, but it has the powerful grabs and throws to back it up. Its Shadow Ball can also stop some opponents from making successful recoveries.
| Pichu
| Not a very good fighter since all of Pichu's electric moves can hurt it. At least the small size makes Pichu a bit harder to hit for most fighters.
| F-Zero Universe
| Captain Falcon
| Captain Falcon can truly be nasty since he does feature some good KO moves, which includes his aerial knee move. His Meteor Smash can also send opponents plummeting.
| EarthBound / Mother Universe
| Ness
| Ness isn't exactly great since his best moves are either slow or require sweetspots. Heck, two of his smash attacks aren't even capable of KOing opponents.
| Fire Emblem Universe
| Marth
| His sword skills are quite quick, and if that sweetspot hits, the attack knockback will be intense.
| Roy
| Roy's ground game is quite powerful, despite the fact that his attacks are pretty laggy. However, his aerial skills are very bad, and his recovery isn't any better.
| Other Nintendo Universes
| Ice Climbers
| When both Popo and Nana are together, their attacks can truly be nasty for the opponent. However, their recovery will get messed up if they're separated.
| Mr. Game & Watch
| This flat guy does have some good attacks. However, he's very light, due to his flat structure.
| Kart Name | My Rating | Kart Thoughts
| Light Karts
| Goo-Goo Buggy
| Despite having the good acceleration, this kart is inferior to the other karts with the same stats.
| Rattle Buggy
| This kart may be a quick accelerator, but its low speed and low weight does hurt it.
| Toad Kart
| Not very bouncy, and has good acceleration, despite the low speed. Though its weight is no different than the Rattle Buggy.
| Toadette Kart
| Like the Toad Kart, this kart doesn't bounce too much. It also accelerates the best among any kart with the same acceleration stat. Although, it's quite slow, and the weight is only equal to the Goo-Goo Buggy.
| Koopa Dasher
| Good acceleration, but fair speed. Also, this kart is a tad heavier than most other lightweight karts. Although, it's pretty bouncy.
| Para Wing
| Strong acceleration, but the speed is rather poor. The kart's weight is tied with the Koopa Dasher's fortunately.
| Barrel Train
| This kart is a speed demon for the lightweights. It's fast, while having low acceleration, and the average weight helps the kart out too. This kart's biggest flaw is the poor traction however.
| Bullet Blaster
| It may be fast and have average accelerating abilities, but the weight hurts badly. The lightest kart in the game also has poor handling, and the drifting is pretty tough to control.
| Medium Karts
| Red Fire
| A balanced kart with average stats in all categories. It's a decent choice overall.
| Green Fire
| This kart is about speed. However, its acceleration is a bit low, and the weight is below average as well. Still good though.
| Heart Coach
| Although the speed is low, the acceleration isn't. Its weight is also decent, being tied with the Red Fire kart.
| Bloom Coach
| It may be balanced with the speed and acceleration, but this kart suffers from low weight. In fact, it's the lightest kart in the medium weight class.
| Turbo Yoshi
| Good handling along with the high acceleration makes this kart pretty useful. Although the speed is a bit low. It's also a bit heavier than most other karts.
| Turbo Birdo
| This kart not only features balanced speed and acceleration, but its weight is above average (being about as heavy as a heavyweight kart). This kart works great if you don't want people ramming into you a lot.
| Waluigi Racer
| Waluigi's lean mean machine follows the routine of average speed and acceleration. Its weight is also a tad heavier than most other karts. It is pretty bouncy however.
| Heavy Karts
| Wario Car
| Wario's mean machine may have the speed, but its acceleration is rather low. Additionally, despite being heavy, this kart's weight can't match up with the other heavyweights.
| DK Jumbo
| This wooden machine is fast and heavy. However, the wooden wheels do hinder this kart's accelerating abilities. Very few karts can outmatch this big boy's size.
| Koopa King
| Very fast and very heavy. Two words that the lighter karts don't want to hear. This brute is a nasty speed demon. However, those 6 wheels don't help the kart accelerate any better.
| Piranha Pipes
| This kart may be made from pipes, but it's definitely a road hog with its huge weight. It also features high speed, but has low acceleration along the way.
| Boo Pipes
| Technically, Boos don't pop out of pipes. However, this road hog is unique for having high acceleration, and being super heavy. The speed is pretty low however.
| Other Karts
| Parade Kart
| This bonus kart has the things that most other characters would dream of. High speed, average acceleration, and good weight. While this kart may attract the lightweights and medium weights, it's not too special for the heavyweights since their karts can easily push this kart around.
| Character Name | My Rating | Character Thoughts
| Captains
| Mario
| Mario's a well balanced captain. His Super Ability can also be useful when trying to get a good Mega Strike in.
| Luigi
| Luigi isn't any different than Mario in terms of playstyle.
| Peach
| Peach's movement and passing skills are great, but most of her scoring will likely involve Mega Strikes. Also, her Super Ability can accidentally stop her sidekicks.
| Daisy
| A great defender, but she plays poorly when holding the ball. Of course, her deke move can get past goalies with ease.
| Yoshi
| Being a balanced captain, Yoshi doesn't have many pros and cons. At least he uses his tongue to tackle opposing players.
| Wario
| Wario's not that impressive since his Super Ability can be useless if the opponent knows how it's used. He may be a heavy shooter, but his defense is poor.
| Waluigi
| Waluigi is a big time threat, especially with his Super Ability. Once he gets the ball, you'd better stop him from deking or performing Mega Strikes.
| Donkey Kong
| DK is a nasty captain to run into. He's a heavy hitter and a heavy shooter. A dangerous combination as such.
| Diddy Kong
| He may lack defensive and shooting skills, but Diddy is a very nasty playmaker. If he removes all of his opponents with his Super Ability, nothing can stop him from knocking down the goalie with numerous Mega Strikes.
| Bowser
| Bowser is a big threat when he's shooting since his shots are fast and lethal. Be ready for whatever he digs up.
| Bowser Jr.
| Being an offensive type of captain, Bowser Jr. will do whatever is possible to make a score. In fact, his Super Ability can just be enough to mess up any unlucky opponents.
| Petey Piranha
| Petey is one evil captain to be facing. He's a powerful defender, and a nasty shooter. His Super Ability can also give him huge opportunities to perform a Mega Strike. If he gets the ball, stop him quickly.
| Sidekicks
| Koopa Troopa
| A well balanced sidekick for any team. While his Skillshot doesn't always bring the ball back to him, it gives other teammates a chance to get a score in.
| Shy Guy
| Shy Guy is a pretty well balanced guy. His Skillshot can be risky to use, but if executed correctly, a score is almost certain to occur.
| Toad
| A good passer and runner for any team with good shooters. His Skillshot may not be that impressive, but it can keep that goalie from grabbing the ball.
| Boo
| A rather poor sidekick overall. His Skillshot can be blocked real easily, and his deke doesn't exactly protect him from incoming tackles. He's mostly good for setting up passes for the heavy shooters.
| Birdo
| A heavy shooter and tackler is always useful when needed. While her shots are quite powerful, Birdo can also use her Skillshot to plow right through the goalie.
| Monty Mole
| Another strong shooter and defender. His Skillshot is tricky to use, but it can lead to a lot of scores if used correctly.
| Hammer Bro
| This guy is a big threat for any team. His deke is quite good and his Skillshot is almost always gonna lead to a score. His defensive skills are rather weak though.
| Dry Bones
| The best sidekick for any team. He's fast and hits hard, and his Skillshot makes up for what he lacks in shooting abilities. Additionally, his dekes can easily lead to some good scores.
| Character Name | My Rating | Character Thoughts
| Mario Universe
| Mario
| Well balanced, and a good set of strong moves. Recovery is an issue though.
| Donkey Kong
| A long reach and good grab range does make DK a threat. Though his big size makes it easy for opponents to knock him around.
| Yoshi
| Although lacking any powerful attack, Yoshi's aerial game sure comes in handy when picking off airborne foes.
| Luigi
| He may be in Mario's shadow, but Luigi still knows how to shine in combat. His recovery methods are tough to execute properly though.
| Peach
| Her horizontal recovery is very good, but she does lack a large set of powerful moves. At least the vegetables can keep opponents busy.
| Bowser
| Bowser's raw power can easily wipe out the weaker opponents. However, his walking is pretty sluggish.
| Wario
| He's a mind game maniac once you've figured out his pros and cons. With many ways to recover, Wario won't give up a fight so easily.
| Diddy Kong
| Being short does make him a slightly hard target to hit. Also, Diddy may lack physical strength, but there are many ways for him to mess up his opponents.
| The Legend of Zelda Universe
| Link
| Not easy to use at the least. While the large arsenal of weapons does keep opponents off balance, their knockback is rather weak.
| Zelda
| Her offensive power truly is shocking. Of course, some of those attacks require precise timing to work properly.
| Sheik
| Not very powerful, but at least Sheik can rack up damage rather quickly with her moves.
| Ganondorf
| Slow movement and attacks makes this guy real tough to use. In fact, he's pretty pathetic against the faster fighters.
| Toon Link
| While some of his moves are the same as Link's, his playstyle does work differently. At least he can jump high.
| Metroid Universe
| Samus
| Samus does pack a lot of power in her power suit. However, knowing which attacks to use can vary between opponents.
| Zero Suit Samus
| Although she lacks any strong attacks, Zero Suit Samus's quickness lets her get away when things get rough. At least her paralyzer has a good reach.
| Kirby Universe
| Kirby
| Small and has the ability to copy opponent abilities. Kirby may not look impressive, but big power does come in small packages.
| Meta Knight
| An aerial master, along with those fast attacks do make Meta Knight a huge threat in a battle. His light weight can be an issue at times though.
| King Dedede
| Dedede's giant hammer truly does pack a punch when used. Also, with a powerful grab range, you're not safe from this guy when on ground level.
| Star Fox Universe
| Fox
| Fox surely lost his edge after his Melee days. His best KO moves pack less power, and that Blaster's range is also shorter.
| Falco
| Falco brings some changes to his playstyle, which includes more ways to combo his opponents.
| Wolf
| Wolf truly is dangerous with those fast smash attacks of his. His biggest flaw is his recovery methods though.
| Pokémon Universe
| Pikachu
| Popular and a tough battler. Pikachu has ways to crush the competition with its electric power.
| Jigglypuff
| Although its air game is good, Jigglypuff's weight hurts big time. Plus, the ground game is poor since it's a slow walker.
| Squirtle
| Squirtle lacks the attack range for its best moves. Also, add the fact that it has to switch out when tired truly hinders its overall capabilities.
| Ivysaur
| Ivysaur does pack a powerful KO move, but it is pretty slow in execution. The vines help its range, but it'll have to switch out eventually.
| Charizard
| This powerhouse Pokémon truly has the power to wipe out enemies. However, being a big target does have its flaws. Also, it'll have to switch out when tired.
| Lucario
| Having the unique aura abilities, Lucario can make combos at low damage, while having the nasty KO power at high damage. Knowing how to use it right can be a matter of trial and error.
| F-Zero Universe
| Captain Falcon
| Captain Flacon sure has plummeted in terms of his attack usage. Some of his best moves in Melee have been weakened to a point where they're pathetic, and the old knee is harder to hit with.
| EarthBound / Mother Universe
| Ness
| Ness doesn't have an excellent way to take out his foes. While he does have the power to KO things, it's not easy to figure out when to use the moves.
| Lucas
| Lucas does pack a lot of power in his attacks. However, not all of his best moves have a good reach.
| Fire Emblem Universe
| Marth
| Having fast swordplay does help when trying to keep foes off balance. Of course, getting that sweetspot to hit is a bit more difficult than in Melee.
| Ike
| That huge sword does hamper Ike's attack speed. However, it's quite powerful, even without a sweetspot. Regarding his recovery, Ike can have problems when trying to get back into a battle.
| Pikmin Universe
| Olimar
| Olimar relies on his Pikmin to take care of things. It's important to know which Pikmin has which skills so that you can adjust to the given situation.
| Other Nintendo Universes
| Ice Climbers
| Those two work together, so to make an attack very useful, both Ice Climbers need to time their attacks just right.
| Mr. Game & Watch
| Who'd ever thought that a flat guy would pack so much power?! He may be light in weight, but he's heavy in power.
| Pit
| Pit does lack any major KO moves, but he has ways to combo his foes to death.
| R.O.B.
| R.O.B. does have a strange playstyle, but it does come in handy when dealing with ambushes.
| 3rd Party Universes
| Solid Snake
| You wouldn't think that a 3rd party character would be that tough. However, Solid Snake has so many powerful moves that it isn't even funny.
| Sonic
| No long range attacks and very few KO moves does hinder his capabilities. However, Sonic has the speed and the combo abilities to get through.
| Character Name | My Rating | Character Thoughts
| Small Characters
| Baby Mario
| Having a strong weight boost comes in handy for the heavier vehicles. Having good handling can also be useful.
| Baby Luigi
| Having a good speed boost comes in handy. Also, the strong weight boost is not too shabby either.
| Baby Peach
| Apart from the good weight boost, Baby Peach only gains a small boost of speed, handling, and acceleration. Decent choice though.
| Baby Daisy
| Good speed boost and a small mini-turbo boost can prove to be quite useful. Also, the good weight boost helps a lot too.
| Toad
| Good acceleration and good drifting makes Toad a good character choice for any vehicle with a high drift and/or acceleration stat.
| Toadette
| Toadette does have a good off-road bonus, along with a small speed boost. Other than that, she's not too special.
| Koopa Troopa
| While he does have a small handling boost, Koopa's best bonus is his mini-turbo. Still, he's not all that special.
| Dry Bones
| Like with Koopa Troopa, Dry Bones also has a good mini-turbo. Additionally, a small acceleration and drift bonus also helps him a bit.
| Medium Characters
| Mario
| Being the main character, Mario has been given a good weight boost along with a small acceleration, handling, and drift boost. He's a good character to use overall.
| Luigi
| Still in Mario's shadow, Luigi's bonuses are also not that impressive. Apart from a good weight boost and a small speed boost, there isn't much to Luigi.
| Peach
| What can I say? Good acceleration and drift boosts, along with a small speed boost. Quite good overall.
| Daisy
| With a good speed boost, along with a small mini-turbo boost, Daisy can be one heck of a speedster on the fast vehicles. Along with the combo, a small handling boost is also pretty good.
| Yoshi
| While Yoshi does have a strong off-road boost, his weight and drift bonuses are only small. His bonuses don't exactly go well with the fast vehicles, but he's still decent.
| Birdo
| Birdo does feature a good mini-turbo boost. However, her weight and off-road boosts are only small. Even so, she's still a decent character choice.
| Diddy Kong
| Diddy is just like Dry Bones in terms of the stat bonuses.
| Bowser Jr.
| Only a small off-road and mini-turbo boost has definitely hurt Bowser Jr.'s overall capabilities. Not that great of a choice when looking for characters with good stat boosts.
| Large Characters
| Wario
| Wario is no different than Birdo in terms of the stat bonuses.
| Waluigi
| When looking for a large character with a good acceleration and drift boost, you're referring to this guy. He also has a small off-road boost.
| Donkey Kong
| DK is limited to a small weight, acceleration, handling, and mini-turbo bonus, but is still relatively good overall.
| Bowser
| Having a good weight bonus works well with the small speed and drift boosts.
| King Boo
| Despite the fact he has a good handling bonus, very few large vehicles even have good handling stats. The small off-road boost doesn't help much either.
| Rosalina
| Having a small speed, handling, and mini-turbo boost gives Rosalina a decent set of vehicle choices to take advantage of those boosts.
| Funky Kong
| Funky's good speed boost makes him one heck of a speedster on the fast vehicles. The small off-road bonus may not be much to him though.
| Dry Bowser
| Any vehicle with a good mini-turbo stat would be Dry Bowser's vehicle choice. Also, the good off-road bonus helps when using vehicles with good off-road capabilities.
| Vehicle Name | My Rating | Vehicle Thoughts
| Small Karts
| Standard Kart S
| This vehicle is pretty balanced for the small racers.
| Booster Seat
| Good overall capabilities, even if slow.
| Mini Beast
| Great drift and mini-turbo helps this vehicle perform good.
| Cheep Charger
| Performs quite well, thanks to good handling, drifting, and acceleration.
| Tiny Titan
| Decent vehicle, but its off-road is quite good. Drifting is weak though.
| Blue Falcon
| Pretty decent for a vehicle with high speed.
| Small Bikes
| Standard Bike S
| A well balanced bike for the small racers.
| Bullet Bike
| An excellent vehicle, despite having fairly low acceleration. The internal drift and very high mini-turbo makes the vehicle quite useful.
| Bit Bike
| Pretty good performance, overall. The high handling helps.
| Quacker
| A very good vehicle, despite being very light.
| Magikruiser
| Well balanced, and has an excellent off-road.
| Jet Bubble
| Decent vehicle, despite not having any big pros.
| Medium Karts
| Standard Kart M
| Average, as usual.
| Classic Dragster
| Good performance with its high acceleration, handling, and drifting.
| Wild Wing
| A very good vehicle with its high drifts and mini-turbos. Though the acceleration hurts.
| Super Blooper
| A pretty poor vehicle, despite having good speed and off-road.
| Daytripper
| A decently good vehicle with its high handling and mini-turbo.
| Sprinter
| Despite having high speed, the vehicle isn't exactly good for the hard tracks.
| Medium Bikes
| Standard Bike M
| Another average vehicle.
| Mach Bike
| An excellent vehicle, despite having the low acceleration. The drift and mini-turbo makes up for it.
| Sugarscoot
| A decently good vehicle, thanks to the handling and acceleration.
| Zip Zip
| Great off-road capabilities, and average handling and acceleration is handy. Although the external drifts can be an issue.
| Sneakster
| The high speed is good, but having average drifting can be an issue. Fortunately, it drifts internally.
| Dolphin Dasher
| A good performance vehicle with its good speed and off-road. Of course, the off-road on this vehicle is less impressive compared to the Zip Zip.
| Large Karts
| Standard Kart L
| What can I say? It's just another average vehicle.
| Offroader
| The vehicle is quite heavy along with the good acceleration and handling. Although, the drifting is quite poor.
| Flame Flyer
| Although fast, its drifting is not as good as that of the Wild Wing. Plus, the poor acceleration only gives this vehicle an average rating in my book.
| Piranha Prowler
| Having the heaviest weight doesn't help if the vehicle can't handle sharp turns.
| Jetsetter
| Overall, a very bad kart. Sure it has the best speed, but that doesn't matter if the vehicle can't make sharp turns very well.
| Honeycoupe
| This kart is quite good, thanks to the drifting and mini-turbo. Makes the Flame Flyer feel jealous.
| Large Bikes
| Standard Bike L
| You already know the story.
| Flame Runner
| Having good speed helps, even though its drifting and mini-turbo can't compare to the Mach Bike.
| Wario Bike
| It may be the heaviest bike, but the poor external drifts make this good accelerating boy have some issues.
| Shooting Star
| Despite having high drifting and mini-turbo, the external drifts make the vehicle pretty tough to use right.
| Spear
| It may be fast, but its other stats are quite bad. The only thing saving this vehicle from a poor rating is its internal drift.
| Phantom
| The only large vehicle with a high off-road does have some issues in terms of drifting. Not only is it the worst drifter, but it's an external drifter along the way. At least its other stats are well balanced.

| Rooms
- Players can choose Wi-Fi rooms to race in. Up to 12 players can be in one Wi-Fi room.
- Players can create their own Wi-Fi room, and choose the engine class for it.
- Players can also remove their own Wi-Fi rooms when they're not in action.
| Character and Vehicle Selection
- Players choose their characters and vehicles after choosing their Wi-Fi room.
- After each race or battle, the player can change his/her character and vehicle without leaving his/her current Wi-Fi room.
| Track / Battle Stage Selection
- Players do a poll to see which track or battle stage will be used. The specific Wi-Fi room will be playing on the track or battle stage that has been selected.
- Engine classes can vary between Wi-Fi rooms. Depending on the Wi-Fi room, the engine class may stay the same all the time or be chosen at random.
| Scoring System
- In VS races, players gain points depending on their racing position.
- In battles, players gain points depending on the points that they gain during the battle.
- There are 4 different scoring systems.
- VS Solo
- VS Team
- Battle Solo
- Battle Team
- Players no longer lose points for bad match results. Instead, players are ranked by how many points they've gained from races and battles (similar to the way Mario Strikers Charged does its Wi-Fi scoring system).
| Team Races and Battles
- When players are doing team races and battles, a special bonus is awarded to the winning team. The team that wins a race or battle gets their points doubled; a player that gains 15 points will have his/her points doubled to 30 if his/her team wins.
- The special bonus is applied to team matches only. No bonuses are awarded in solo matches.
