Super Mario Chess Game: Nintendo Collector's Edition is a Mario series-themed chess set released by USAopoly in September of 2009. The rules of the game are the same as defined by the original game.

There are 32 hand-painted characters taking the place of the various pieces:

• Mario as the King,
• Luigi as the Queen,
• Princess Peach and Princess Daisy as Bishops,
• Yoshi as the Knight,
• Toad as the Rook,
• Coins as Pawns.

For the opposing side,

• Bowser is the King,
• Bowser Jr. the Queen,
• Kamek or a general Magikoopa the Bishop,
• Birdo the Knight,
• a Goomba the Rook,
• and Koopa Shells as Pawns.

The pieces measure 3-inches tall x 11-inches wide x 11-inches long.

Trivia

• Luigi and Daisy are modeled after their 3-inch figurines, while Bowser and the Magikoopas are modeled after their official Super Mario Galaxy artwork.
