Koopa Khan.
“For courage beyond compare! For bravery beyond description! I praise this great hero, this superior fiend: Me. Koopa Khan the magnificent!”
Koopa Khan

Koopa Khan was the alter ego employed by King Koopa in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Brooklyn Bound". As Koopa Khan, King Koopa controlled a small troop of Snifits throughout the Snow World. Koopa Khan rode an Ostro as his main mode of transportation, as did his Snifit underlings.

History

King Koopa and several of his Snifits had been chasing Mario and his friends throughout Mushroom World, and after several days, eventually entered the Snow World. At some point during this chase, King Koopa assumed the alter ego of Koopa Khan.

Koopa Khan eventually caught up to Mario's group somewhere in the Snow World, and ordered his Snifits to chase them into a small cave which turned out to be a dead end. Seemingly trapped, Luigi pulled a lever he suddenly discovered, which caused the floor beneath him and his friends to slide open, dropping them down a deep shaft. Assuming that Mario's group was done for, Koopa Khan opted to not follow them.

Meanwhile, a Shy Guy espionage had been eavesdropping on Mario's group, learning that they had not only survived the fall, but stumbled into Salvador Drainado, an old plumber also from Brooklyn who had finally found a way back home. This Shy Guy made his way back to Koopa Khan's tent, just as Koopa Khan proposed a toast to himself using an actual piece of toast for defeating Princess Toadstool and her friends. The Shy Guy then showed up and reported that Mario's group was alive and in the caverns, which infuriated Koopa Khan, who in turn led his Snifits atop their Ostros back into the caves.

Koopa Khan and his minions caught up with Mario's group just as they were crossing an underground chasm with lava at the bottom. Koopa Khan quickly blew up the bridge with a Bob-omb before Mario's group could reach the other side, which sent them plummeting downwards. Mario, however, managed to grab hold of a ledge, while his friends all grabbed on to him in a chain-like fashion. Koopa Khan mocked Mario, stating the he could never climb back to safety, but Mario managed to find a Fire Flower situated on the ledge, which he used to become Super Mario, and was then able to fly himself and his friends back up the chasm to the far ledge. Super Mario then scared off the Snifits and their Ostros by tossing fireballs in their direction, forcing Koopa Khan to rethink his plans.

Koopa Khan and his Snifits later returned to the chasm, which they were now unable to cross. Out of frustration Koopa Khan kicked a stalagmite, which broke and landed on the other side of the chasm, serving as a makeshift bridge for him and his Snifits to cross.

Koopa Khan eventually found the drainpipe back to Brookyln that Mario's group had been looking for, where Mario, Luigi and Salvador were already inside the pipe and saying goodbye to Princess Toadstool and Toad. Koopa Khan lassoed Princess Toadstool and Toad with ropes, announcing to Mario and Luigi that they were now in good hands and that they should never return, before he made off his new captives.

Travelling back through the caverns, Koopa Khan gloated to Princess Toadstool that she and Toad were now powerless against him. However, he was shocked to see Mario and Luigi, having given up returning to Brooklyn, were standing atop a series of pipes. Koopa Khan ordered his Snifits to stop them, but the two plumbers unleashed the water in the pipes down towards the Snifits, washing them and their Ostros all away. Before he could react, Koopa Khan and his Ostro got washed away as well, complaining that he hated plumbers.

Appearance

As Koopa Khan, King Koopa wore a thick, red winter coat with white fur trimmings, along with a matching cap. He also sported a long Fu Manchu.
