Gooper Blooper Volley is a Special Game in Mario Power Tennis. It was set on the Gooper Blooper Court, situated in Ricco Harbor on the platform where Gooper Blooper is fought for the second time in Super Mario Sunshine. Gooper Blooper appears as the opponent, using all four of his tentacles to volley the tennis ball back to the player. The player must avoid hitting an area of the court marked with a cross - for that will give the player an instant game-over. When Gooper Blooper volleys a ball, he drops a racquet, and uses one of the different-coloured boxes by the side of him to fetch another one.

In the Wii version, the player gets two extra chances before they fail.

Levels (Gamecube Version)

  • Buddy Blooper – Volley the ball 20 times.
  • Rival Blooper – Volley the ball 50 times. (After forty hits, two spaces will be off limits.)
  • Master Blooper – Volley the ball 100 times. (After forty hits, two spaces will be off limits; after sixty hits, roulette spaces appear; after ninty hits, three spaces are off limits.)

Levels (Wii Version)

  • Buddy Blooper – Volley the ball five times.
  • Rival Blooper – Volley the ball ten times.
  • Master Blooper – Volley the ball 20 times. (After fifteen hits, two spaces will be off limits)

Trivia

  • Gooper Blooper doesn't ever miss and doesn't hit the ball normally; he just throws the racket at the ball then picks another one out of the boxes around him.
  • The color of the square that the ball bounces in will determine which racket Gooper Blooper hits the ball with.
