Catbat

Catbat is the boss of the Sapphire Passage in the Game Boy Advance game Wario Land 4. It is a large, ghostly-like cat with a bat on his head. Since this monster has the features and wings of a bat, Catbat can fly in the air. Catbat's battle area has a pool of water in the floor, with a Drill Fish swimming back and forth through the water. In order to defeat the Catbat, Wario must ride on the waves Catbat creates when it crashes into the pool and ram into its Bat Head, all the while Wario must avoid the spiked projectiles Catbat spits out. If Wario touches one, he will become Puffy Wario and float up costing precious time. After enough hit, the bat head disappears and the spiked objects become red. This time, they will damage Wario (instead of transforming him). When on the newly undulating wave, Wario must jump off and groundpound Catbat's head. After enough hits, Catbat is defeated and Wario is rewarded with the creature's Bracelets.

Time given in different modes

The time given to defeat the boss varies on the game mode.

• Normal: the time given is 4:00 minutes.
• Hard: the time given is 3:00 minutes.
• S-Hard (unlockable): the time given is 2:00 minutes.
