Template:Minigame-infobox Box Mountain Mayhem is a 4-player mini-game that is found during the events of the Nintendo 64 game Mario Party. Unlike other mini-games, this mini-game focuses on players freely collecting the amount of Coins they gathered instead of battling to win the mini-game.

Introduction

There is no introduction in the mini-game; the four characters in the row simply stare at the viewer before the mini-game starts.

Gameplay

The objective of the mini-game is that the players attempt to break those stacks of boxes to collect many Coins as possible within the time limit of 30 seconds. Players can stun each other at a short time with different results. If the player is jumped on, the player is partially flattened and cannot punch. If the player is punched, the player is pushed back from a few feet. If the player is attacked with Hip Drop, the player is flattened onto the ground, and cannot move.

To make the mini-game more interesting, Whomp Blocks are introduced in the mini-game as they remain hiding in the piles of boxes. If one of the players hit those hidden blocks, the particular block reveals itself with the appearing worried face symbol as it bounces the player back from a few feet from the boxes. They may contain some coins that are scattered around the room instead of players collecting it by simply breaking the box. Occasionally, inside of one of the boxes contains Coin Bags that are worth five coins. These items are also scattered around when the player breaks and reveals them in the open.

There is no winner or loser when the mini-game ended when the time limit is up, or when there are no boxes left. All the players participated and gathered a fair amount of coins at the end of the mini-game.
