Arachne

Template:Smrpgenemy An Arachne is a large black and yellow arachnid with three red eyes. It is named after Arachne, the Greek goddess of spiders. Arachnes reside in Rose Way during the events of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. They are some of the more powerful enemies Mario and his party encounter early on, though they never attack on their own. They are fought alongside other monsters and are never seen outside of battle. During a confrontation, an Arachne attacks by gouging its victim with its deadly fangs, and it may also use the special attack Venom Drool, which allows it to poison its opponents. In spite of the threat they pose, Arachnes are susceptible to most magic attacks.

• The Arachne's Psychopath quote refers to the song "Day-O" (also known as "The Banana Boat Song"), which makes a reference to a deadly black tarantula.
