Foos are a new cloud enemy that had their first appearance in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. They act just like a Fwoosh, though its wind blows only produces fog and do not throw Mario away like Fwooshes did in Super Mario 64. Mario can get rid of the fog produced by a Foo by doing a Spin Jump or using a Propeller Mushroom.
Foos can be defeated in every way possible existing in the game, though some of them are in places that Mario can not access.
