Young Link is a main character of the Legend of Zelda series. He could almost be considered to be the main character, as he is actually the younger form of the franchise leader, Link. He is shown to be quite skilled with a short sword, as well as many other weapons.

Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time, Young Link wakes up to the fairy Navi. She tells the Great Deku Tree summoned him. Link gets a sword and sheild and meets the tree. The Great Deku Tree tells Link a man from the desert has placed a curse on him. Link breaks the curse but the tree still dies and Link recieves the Kokiri Emerald being told to see Zelda. He meets Zelda who tells him about Ganondorf. Zelda sends him to the Gorons of Death Mountain and the Zoras of Zora's Domain. There he gets the remaining Spiritual Stones. He returns to Castle Town to see Ganondorf chasing Zelda on horseback. Link then the Ocarina of Time allowing him to get the Master Sword. Also allowing Ganondorf to steal the Triforce of Power.

Majora's Mask

In Majora's Mask, Link is ambushed and his horse and ocarina are stolen. He is also transformed into a Deku. He soon meets the Happy Mask Salesman who'll change him when Link finds the ocarina and Majora's Mask. When Link next meets him he only has the ocarina tricking the HSM into transforming him back. Angered, he tells Link what Majora's Mask is. Link now must summon the Four Giants to stop it and the moon about to crush Termina. He does, but then the mask goes into the moon! There Link obtains the Fierce Deity Mask. After that, Link fights Majora's Mask, who shows true insanity after transfofms into Majora's Incarnation and Majora's Wrath. Link destroys it and the mask becomes a simple relic.

Super Smash Bros series

Mario crossed paths with Young Link in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Here he was an unlockable character. He is shown to have a fighting style similar to Link's, but he is weaker and cannot throw Bombs as far. However, he is much faster than his older self. He can use a variety of weapons, including Arrows, a Boomerang, and a Deku Shield.

It's unknown if he'll return in the sequel Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
