A Super Mushroom is a red Mushroom that allows whoever eats one to grow to an enormous size.

In relation to Mario Kart, a Super Mushroom is an item that gives you continuous bursts of speed over a time period of around eight seconds. This particular Super Mushroom is also known as a Golden Mushroom or Royal Mushroom.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Super Mushrooms restore 50 HP to whoever eats one. However, in the game's sequel Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, a Super Mushroom only recovers forty HP.

In Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, they are known as Super Shrooms and they replenish 10 HP.

During the Super Mario Bros. days, they were sometimes called Magic Mushrooms.
