Wereturtles are a large, bestial form taken by Koopa Troopas when they stare at the full moon; Wereturtles only appeared in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Count Koopula / Magician".
After several seconds of staring at the full moon, Koopa Troopas will begin their monstrous transformation into Werteturtles, growing large in size, gaining claws and fangs and also, oddly, fur. Once a Koopa Troopa completely transforms into a Wereturtle, it will begin to walk on all fours and seemingly loses it's ability to communicate, reduced to making howls and snarls.
