Hello readers of The 'Shroom, and welcome to Spotlight. Spotlight is a community project which aims to fix up the articles on the wiki which have issues. These issues can range from poor writing to a lack of images, to even just needing a credible source.

Welcome to October's edition of Spotlight! World may be crazy right now, so what better time than to don a costume and be silly? But even if you can't go out, we have some spooky themes for you this month. Put on your favorite Mario cap, princess crown, or ghost sheet and you just might end up having even more fun with these focuses!

Although our August was a massive success, last month wasn't as good. However, we still got plenty of things done, which we can be really proud of, especially as the only focus that went untouched was our image quality focus, File:SweetDreamStoryArt.jpg! Ring (Sonic the Hedgehog) was created by The Mansion (talk), Kremling Dock got a massive overhaul and expansion, thanks to Doomdorm64 (talk) and DarkNight (talk) managed to track down the level information for Floater and add some additional information, as well as an infobox. Ray Trace (talk) added a source for the discontinuation of the DS Lite, although Nintendo DS still needs quite a few citations for other bits of information on there. And when it comes to Kick, ChompworksEngineer (talk) and DarkNight (talk) really worked on improving the article, with a lot more information and images.

And now onto this month's focuses:

Article Category Focuses
Beneath the Keep
Wanted article
Bowser's pretty scary, isn't he? And with all the lava and bones around his area, that's also kind of spooky. But what's spookier is that a lot of locations from Bowser's Kingdom still need to be created, like Beneath the Keep.
Boo Buddies
Stub article
One of the scariest aspects of ghosts is you never know when one might come up. Or a group of them, in this case. To avoid scaring the wits out of our readers, we should have a list of levels Boo Buddies appear in in the New Super Mario Bros. U games.
Mini Boos
Rewrite and expansion required
Maybe going off-topic isn't exactly a scary thing, but it is as far as wiki articles are concerned. We're told of Mini Boos and their role in Mario Super Sluggers... and then similarities between other Boos in Luigi's Mansion, Mario Power Tennis, and Super Mario Galaxy. Simply put, the article lost its focus at some point.
Bat (Super Mario Galaxy)
Citation needed
I'm being driven batty at the moment, and it doesn't help that this bat needs a reference. The trivia section links this bat with Enigma from Super Mario RPG, but we need a source that the rights to the Enigma enemy are owned by Square Enix.
Bone Thwomp
Articles that need more images
You don't really see much of Bowser's skeleton when you're walking around inside of him, but you do see a Thwomp resembling a bone. We could use a proper sprite extract of the two variants so we can see if they fit in Bowser's skeleton somewhere.
File:SM3DW Shifty Boo Mansion Icon.png
Image quality requested
Pretty much all of these level icons from Super Mario 3D World need to be reuploaded in a higher quality, and although this one isn't the worst example, it is the spookiest, so that's why we're highlighting it. But it'd be great if the other level icons could be improved as well!

Now just before I leave you, I'd like to tell you about unimplemented proposals. There are currently nineteen that need to be implemented, one of which dates back to 2015, so think of this as a continuous Spotlight goal until they're all completed.

Thanks for tuning in to the newest edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! Be sure to turn up next month, where we'll be reviewing the progress on the above focuses. If you have any questions or suggestions about this month's set of the article focuses, then please get in touch through the dedicated topic if you have a forum account. If not, then please contact us on Yoshi876's talk page or Alex95's talk page, but you are far more likely to get a quick response if you go through the forums. You are also welcome to make suggestions on what you think we could focus on in our next edition! Thank you, and good luck!
