Diddy Kong
Hi Garlic! I removed it because, AFAIK, Fanky is not Diddy's dad, if he is, then that edit is valid :) -- 21:56, 19 April 2010 (EDT)

THEY is a plural pronoun.
"They" happens to be a unisexual term used for unspecified gender as a more politically correct form of "he/she" which clutters up sentences anyway.
There are no "unisexual" pronouns for he/she, actually. That's why English sucks.
Player and they do not agree in pronoun usage. Someone, everyone, etc., are singular pronouns. He and she are also singular. They, however, is a plural one.
Bottom line: They is wrong; he/she clutters writing. We should rewrite sentences so we don't have this problem.
Also, final results is double talk. Double talk includes red in color, tuna fish, square in shape, revert back, true fact, the reason is because, the reason why, may possibly, other alternative, well, you get it. Double talk makes writing sloppy and messy.
In talking, double talk is fine. In writing, it's bad.

:Actually, they CAN be used as a singular pronoun. See Singular "they" and the many reasons why it's correct. I know several authorities continuously say you need to avoid it, but there's no reason really. It's funny that you even complain that "English sucks" because there's no gender-neutral singular pronoun, but when such a pronoun does evolve, you still don't accept it... Language changes. 08:41, 5 June 2010 (EDT)
::All of those sources are blogs, ideas, "they" becoming accepted, etc. I'm sorry , but a gender-neutral singular pronoun doesn't exist. All sources just show arguments about "they" becoming accepted. You say language evolves, but spoken language evolves much quicker than written. "It's me" is wrong too, you know, but it is also getting accepted into everyday speech and writing. But here, the standards want formal writing.
I've got an idea: why not rewrite sentences so we don't need to use those pronouns?
23:28, 5 June 2010 (EDT)
:::Yes, the source was a blog. If that's not enough for you, ask any linguist, they (ha!) will say that they may be used as a gender-neutral singular pronoun (I'm studying linguistics, too). Who would know if not language experts? You simply say "this is wrong" and "that is wrong", without giving any reason whatsoever. Where do the rules come from? Language (and language rules) are made by the people, not by grammar books. If people start to use they in a singular sense, you cannot claim they all talk "wrongly", but rather the pronoun is changing its meaning. Of course this does not necessarily mean that singular they is acceptable in formal writing, but from everything I know, it is. Rewriting every such sentence seems like unnecessary work to me. 22:18, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Japanese text help
This wiki doesn't have the Japanese name for Goomama from Mario Story, not does this site. Her tattle is:
:<u>Oira</u>no <u>mama</u>dayo
:Rourusakute tokidoki haragatatsukedo
:<u>Mama</u>nokoto daisukinanda
:demo <u>mama</u>niha naishonishitoiteyo
:hazukashiikatasa
I know no Japanese, and the text doesn't show even a "kuri", so I had no way to know her name. Can you help? Thanks! Another gossip-loving Toad (talk) 22:42, 26 February 2015 (EST)
