:It's hard to say, [https://www.nintendo.co.jp/character/mario/archives/sunshine/ the official Japanese names list states that they are currently considered Monty Moles], and effectively ''Super Mario Sunshine'' is notorious for its off-model designs, this being retroactively explained by Nintendo as stemming from the fact that they derive from the graffiti of Bowser Jr.. Keep in mind that we have Monty Tank separate because it's a boss.
