passed
You know, given the recent-ish proposal to limit our coverage of the Smash series, the much more important Ancient Minister having already been merged, and the history of similar mini-bosses such as Giant Donkey Kong and Giant Kirby being merged, I don't see why Dark Link should be left behind. No, the palette swaps are not an indication that Dark Link is a playable character; that's like saying Daisy was previously playable because Peach has a skin that looks like her. Also, as seen by Alph, when someone is a separate character, it's plainly indicated. It's just Link and Toon Link in different clothes. Appearing in three events across two games is not notable enough to warrant a separate article, especially when (and this is important to stress), the wiki is interested in limiting its coverage of the Smash series.

Support
#Time Turner Per proposal
#WeirdDave13 Per proposal
#Alex95 - RIP reasons from previous proposal. Per all.
#Baby Luigi Per all.
#Ultimate Mr. L Okay, can I stress just how bad this article is? The shadowy Link clones in the event matches are not meant to be taken as the Dark Link, it's just a reference to him. The palette swaps aren't even necessarily Dark Link; as the article says, Link's is based off the Twilight Soldiers (though those were likely based off Dark Link in turn, I mean, they are on ZeldaWiki's Dark Link page) and Toon Link's was based on Shadow Link (ZeldaWiki gives those their own article). <s>That trivia is laughable, the links to SmashWiki don't exist...</s> okay, these aren't reasons for merging/deletion at this point, more like ranting because the article doesn't do a fan-favorite character justice. Anyway, basically everything on the article isn't actually Dark Link, so definitely merge, or even delete.
#TheFlameChomp With the changes in Smash Bros. coverage, it no longer seems necessary to keep this article separate. Per all.
#BBQ Turtle Per all.

What if Dark Link gets a named skin in Ultimate a la Alph or the Koopalings? LinkTheLefty (talk) 10:00, 25 October 2018 (EDT)
:Can I pray that won't happen? Jokes aside, I don't think that's likely, considering the previous examples of characters changing clothes to look like someone else without being renamed. Separately, I'd say that Alph is on the teetering edge of what we should cover, but considering that he's essentially a glorified reskin, it may be worth reexamining him. 10:45, 25 October 2018 (EDT)
I'd argue that Alph should get a merge, especially when our standards with Smash Bros. coverage has changed. Alph had barely a standing, but now the standards have shifted and I see less and less reason to have him with everything else in Smash Bros. is getting merged. 19:58, 26 October 2018 (EDT)
