It is a [[Remix course|remix version]] of the [[SNES Rainbow Road|Rainbow Road]] course from ''[[Super Mario Kart]]'' that debuted in the [[Super Mario Kart Tour]]. The course is a favorite of [[Toad (species)|Red Toad (Pit Crew)]], [[Birdo|Birdo (Blue)]], [[Mario|Mario (Happi)]], [[Rosalina|Rosalina (Aurora)]], [[Rosalina|Rosalina (Swimwear)]], [[Mario|Mario (SNES)]], [[Fire Mario|Fire Rosalina]], [[Cat Mario|Cat Peach]], [[Pauline|Pauline (Rose)]], [[Yoshi|Yoshi (Gold Egg)]], [[Princess Peach#Dr. Mario series|Dr. Peach]], [[Luigi|Luigi (Knight)]], [[Toadette|Toadette (Astronaut)]], and the [[Mii|? Block Mii Racing Suit]]. It is also a favorite of [[Luigi|Luigi (Painter)]] if he reaches level 3, [[Dry Bowser|Dry Bowser (Gold)]] and [[Bowser Jr.|Bowser Jr. (Pirate)]] if they reach level 6, and [[Princess Daisy|Daisy (Yukata)]] and [[Mario|Mario (Satellaview)]] if they reach level 8.

The course uses the same aesthetics as Rainbow Road from ''Super Mario Kart'', but has a different layout. The course starts with a straight path and a left turn. After the turn is another straight path with four [[Item Box]]es and two [[Star Thwomp]]s. There is a left turn which leads to a [[Glide Ramp]]. In the gliding section, there is a large number of asteroids that can knock the player back, and in the middle of the section there is a small path of road and another Glide Ramp. After the gliding section there is a right turn, two small [[ramp]]s and another right turn. After the turn there is a path with two Star Thwomps, four Item Boxes, a right turn, and a Glide Ramp. In the second gliding section there are three sets of [[Ring (Mario Kart series)|Star Ring]]s. There is then a left turn leading to the [[Finish Line]]. The Reverse variant of the course is similar, though it only has two sets of Star Rings and includes a [[Mushroom Trampoline]] at the end of the course. The Trick variant has additional ramps, parts of the track which move like waves without Star Thwomps, and replaces both gliding sections with platforms with ramps. The R/T variant features a new gliding section and a [[Big Piranha Plant]].

The course also appears as '''RMX Rainbow Road 1R''' (reversed), '''RMX Rainbow Road 1T''' (with ramps), and '''RMX Rainbow Road 1R/T''' (reversed with ramps); the first two debuted alongside the normal variant in the [[Super Mario Kart Tour]], while the last debuted in the [[Mario vs. Luigi Tour (2020)|2020 Mario vs. Luigi Tour]].
