'''Pak E. Derm''' is an elephant that first appears in ''[[Yoshi's Story]]''. His name is a pun on the word "pachyderm," a term that refers to an obsolete biological {{wp|Pachydermata|taxon}} that includes elephants.

In ''[[Yoshi's Story]]'', Pak E. Derm holds up a sign and does not let [[Yoshi (species)|Yoshi]] pass. He stands in the middle of the path Yoshi is taking, and will move to the other path if Yoshi moves to the other path. To pass, Yoshi has to [[Ground Pound]] the ground, and Pak E. Derm will fall on his head, allowing Yoshi to pass. Yoshi has to act quickly because Pak E. Derm will soon flip back upright. Yoshi encounters Pak E. Derm three times throughout the [[Treasure Hunt (level)|first level]], and he does not appear thereafter. Pak E. Derm's [[Message Block]] states, "Pak E. Derm will not let you by, unless you give something special a try."

His artwork can be used as a stamp in ''[[Mario Artist: Paint Studio]]''.
