He, along with [[Ella]], is a student of the great golfer, [[Kid]]. Neil appears to be the more energetic and competitive of the two, while Ella seems to be calmer and open-minded. Using the GameCube Gameboy Advance Link Cable, Neil and Ella can be transferred to ''[[Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour]]'', and can be played on the GameCube. He also bears similar appearance traits to his ''[[Mario Tennis: Power Tour]]'' counterpart, [[Clay]].
