In the simplified manga adaptation of the ''Super Mario Bros.'' film titled ''[[Super Mario Makai Teikoku no Megami]]'', Daisy's mother is briefly seen in a flashback. Upon Daisy's kidnap, Koopa explains to her the purpose of the meteorite piece and that a woman opposed to his plans stole it from him. She escaped to Earth with the piece, also taking her daughter with her. Koopa reveals this was Daisy's mother, to her surprise.
