Some holes have [[Chain Chomp]]s at the bottom of canyons and ditches; if a golf ball lands near one it will chase the ball and it will count as an [[O.B.]] There is a lot of wind in this stage. If passed through, a [[Boo]] can distort the trajectory of the ball. If the ball stops underneath a [[Thwomp]], or in front of a [[Whomp]], it can crash down on the ball, driving it into the ground, and increasing the lie factor of the ball, which makes it harder to hit. It is possible for the ball to land on top of a [[Thwomp]]. If the ball flies into a [[Piranha Plant]]'s pipe, or the [[Piranha Plant]]'s mouth, it can spit out the ball, causing it to land anywhere from a [[bunker]], to a point out of bounds.
