2: Remakes and ports with significant new content should be listed separately from the source game. The only reason they aren't is because I got lazy with my  original draft.  --Glowsquid (talk) 14:42, 2 April 2017 (EDT)

EXTREMELY late, but since the existing answer is barebones/misleading, I will answer just in case someone finds the answers useful:
* In The Lost Levels (the original NES/Famicom versions), do you get a star on the title screen for each time you complete the game, whether you use warp pipes or not, whether you finish in World 8 or World 9?
Correct, it's irrelevant whether you use Warps or not, the Star is awarded upon beating World 8 regardless of any other condition.
* On the World A page on this wiki, it says you need "eight consecutive" wins to unlock World A. Does that mean if you get seven stars, and then get a Game Over on your eighth attempt, the stars disappear from the title screen and you have to try again? Does the game forget your stars and winning streak when you turn off the system? (I completed the game on the Virtual Console, so I never "took out the cartridge".)
No, you can get a Game Over and still keep your Stars. The game DOES remember your stars upon turning it off (though, it doesn't save your High Score). The other comment is wrong, remember that the original Lost Levels was released for the FDS, one of the main selling points being that the Disks were entirely writable and thus you didn't need an extra battery back-up.
* Do any stars appear on the title screen after the eighth, if you keep playing Worlds 1 through 8/9? (And did anymore stars appear after beating World D?)

Yes, you can get up to 24 stars. Beating World D does not award you with any star.
*I also took the liberty of removing "Earning all six stars unlocks a nighttime variation of the normal title screen." from Yoshi's Island section since it's incorrect, the nighttime variation is unlocked after defeating Baby Bowser, regardless of the score throughout the level/game. 181.43.35.205

So, I found this on TV Tropes page for 100% completion: DK: King of Swing takes it even higher with 200%. To get it, you must collect all 24 medals and 20 Crystal Coconuts, collect all the medals again in Diddy Mode, beat all the top times as both Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong in Time Attack Mode, and place first on all of the Jungle Jam events (including three that are only unlocked through a password screen accessible only through a code). Should this be added? PrincessPeachFan (talk) 11:49, December 20, 2021 (EST)
