List of blue coins in Super Mario Sunshine</pre>
In Super Mario Sunshine, Mario can obtain blue coins in order to trade ten at at time with the Raccoon in the boathouse in exchange for Shine Sprites. Blue coins can usually be found in out-of-the-way areas; some may be in plain sight, while others must be obtained by spraying certain areas with FLUDD or by defeating certain enemies. There are a total of 240 blue coins in the game.

*"I'm feeling like a good hurry is in order. Is there a way out of here nearby?"
*"That voice was really scary! Where did it come from?"
*"I feel like something's going down in that room with the spooky voice. Should we check it out?"
*"Bowser has a secret? Ooh, what could it be?"
*"He said there's a secret exit. Do you think that means it's hidden by something?"

Whispering Woods
*"If you hit flowers, grass, and trees with switch, confetti will come flying out! Come back to that big hole once you've collected a lot of it, OK?"

*"It's so quiet here. TOO quiet, maybe? Maybe. Let's find a way out of here."
*"A Magic Circle in a place like this? Huh! What will happen if you use it?"
*"Maybe we should try going as far as we can? See what happens?"
*"How about we head over to where Peach's Castle used to be?"
*"<small>Did you just hear mysterious voices whispering mysteriously? Yay? Nay?</small>"
*"Do you want to see what happens if you pull on the dangly green things hanging from the trees?"
*"That sound! Did you hear it? It's like something crashed into something. Or something!"
*"These mountains are big. Really, really big. Maybe we should just keep going farther."
*"This place seems really familiar... Maybe things will change if we just keep going."
*"Doesn't that big stump look like the perfect place to take a quick little rest?"
*"Did we just get the Soul Seed? Wow! That's the thing that will give the tree grandpa his energy back, right?"
*"A shriveled seed won't help. I feel like there's something that can fix shriveled things...but where?"
*"The spring! Didn't we see some old wrinkly stuff fall in there before?"
*"Ooh, the seed is sooo smooth now! And it's overflowing with power!"
