The first appearance of Birdo is in ''[[Super Mario Bros. 2]]'' and ''[[Super Mario Advance]]'', serving the antagonist [[Wart]]. She appears as a boss character in many levels, with the exception of the third level in the first three worlds, as well as the first level of the fourth. Page 9.</ref> shoots [[Birdo's Egg|eggs]] from her snout, '''Red Birdo'''<ref name=color/> shoots eggs and [[fireball]]s, and '''Green Birdo'''<ref name=color/> only shoots fireballs. In the NES version, Green Birdo also appears as gray in [[World 5-1 (Super Mario Bros. 2)|World 5-1]] and [[World 7-1 (Super Mario Bros. 2)|World 7-1]]. Originally, their in-game bows were very small, but the SNES version and other subsequent remakes make them bigger, resembling the size in artwork, and color them orange for the red and green Birdos.
