Baskets of snakes are similar to [[black drum]]s in that they spawn an infinite number of enemies in the direction of [[Donkey Kong]] and [[Diddy Kong]], although baskets of snakes spawn only [[Slippa]]s as suggested by their name.

The [[Kong]]s can stand on a basket of snakes as on a [[platform]], which causes it to cease spawning Slippas. There are some baskets of snakes located in midair above a wide abyss, which the Kongs can use to get across. Some baskets of snakes roll down stairs and will hurt the Kongs upon touching them; if one hits a wall as it rolls, it stops and turns upright, becoming harmless. Baskets of snakes can be destroyed only with a [[TNT Barrel]].
