:I agree with you, GreenDisaster. Just because it isn't well-known doesn't mean that it should be a disambiguation page. As it should cover a series of games, it should also be moved to Mario's Early Years! (series) to maintain consistency. Also, since all three titles linked to on the article as of now appears to begin with "Mario's Early Years!", it must contain an exclamation point as well. 14:07, 14 April 2012 (EDT)

::Shouldn't we apply what you just said ? I don't know why it is still marked as an unresolved talk page. By the way, can we rename the page without "approval" in this case ? And why the "(serie)" is necessary ? This the only page who have this name. Sorry for those questions :/ Banon (talk) 03:47, 1 November 2012 (EDT)

Mario Discovery series
I first thought the name "Mario Discovery" was made-up, and that's why I had removed it in the Koopa Troopa article.
But after a while I found it mentionned in the Mario's Time Machine article.<br>
After that, I also found the Wikipedia article that lists the Mario educationnal games. It reads:
<blockquote>The "Mario Discovery Series" is a label given to five Mario educational games that were developed by The Software Toolworks.[2]</blockquote>. The source is a link, that contains that link, which reads:
<blockquote>In part because of “Nintendo’s favorable evaluation of development work” on Mario is Missing!, the initial contract with The Software Toolworks expanded to include four more Mario edutainment software titles, what would later make up the Mario Discovery Series: Mario’s Time Machine, Mario’s Early Years: Fun with Numbers, Mario’s Early Years: Fun with Letters, and Mario’s Early Years: Preschool Fun.</blockquote>
Do you think "Mario Discovery" is an official name? If so, we should move that page to "Mario Discovery (series)" and includes information for Mario is Missing! and Mario's Time Machine.<br> 16:05, 8 April 2013 (EDT)
:We need more sources confirming this name. 22:38, 8 April 2013 (EDT)
Rename to Mario Discovery (series) and consider Mario is Missing! and Mario's Time Machine as part of the series
SettledTPP

This is in light of the comments directly above.
While I can see why everyone lumped in only the Mario's Early Years! games here, I'm pretty certain that the other edutainment games are meant to be part of this series as well. Though it may seem that I have no proof to back it up, I do have some information that can be used to support this proposal:
*All five games are in the edutainment genre.
*All five games were developed by the same third-party company (Software Toolworks / Mindscape).
*One official magazine scan I found heavily implies in the very first sentence that the series was meant to include Mario is Missing! and Mario's Time Machine as well.
That being said, I propose we rename this to Mario Discovery (series) and include Mario is Missing! and Mario's Time Machine in the article.

Comments
Ehhhh I'm not really seeing why this should be renamed to "Mario". Maybe we can just lump the ones into Mario's Early Years? And about the above discussion, is "Mario Discovery Series" just not a viable name, or am I missing something? 21:51, 3 December 2018 (EST)
:It was never officially called Mario Discovery, at lest according to what I dug up. 22:06, 3 December 2018 (EST)

Identifier?
Why does this article even have a series identifier? There's nothing else simply titled "Mario Discovery," and searching "Mario Discovery" with no identifier will take you to this page. 16:23, November 3, 2020 (EST)
:Per the second to last sentence of the first paragraph here, "Game series articles always get a series identifier regardless of whether or not the title is shared, such as Mario Kart (series).". Mario & Sonic (series) would be another example of this. BBQ Turtle (talk) 16:49, November 3, 2020 (EST)
::Ah, thanks for clearing that up. 17:14, November 3, 2020 (EST)
::It seems like an arbitrary rule for the most part. I can understand the Mario Kart example as the term is often used to refer to any particular game in its series, so there need be something to distinguish the series itself for unfamiliar readers, but Mario & Sonic, Mario & Luigi and Mario Discovery aren't as broad. Has there been a discussion prior to the rule being added to the guidelines? 17:34, November 3, 2020 (EST)
