The '''Sewer Rat''' (known in Japan as '''Rikkī''' (リッキー)) is the [[List of bosses|boss]] of the [[Macro Zone]] in the game ''[[Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins]]''. He is a rat with a rather prominent nose which he apparently uses for defense. His fight is similar to the battle with [[Morton Koopa Jr.]] and [[Roy Koopa]] during the events of ''[[Super Mario World]]''. The sewer rat will run up walls and into pipes and will eventually crawl to the top of the ceiling and fall straight onto [[Mario]]. If the plumber [[jump]]s on top of the giant rodent three times, the creature will be defeated. The rat will then fall off the screen, and Mario will get one of his six [[Golden Coin]]s.

The rat (although not named) also appears in the first [[Mario vs. Wario]] comic. On his way to visit Wario, the rat was the first enemy Mario encountered. Mario mistakenly assumed that the rat just wanted to have a party, and pulled his needle-point nose off to use as a party-popper, causing the rat to faint.
