Torpedo Ted
Torpedo Teds are, as their name implies, a torpedo, much larger than a Bullet Bill, moving underwater and first found in Soda Lake in Super Mario World. Torpedo Teds also can be found in Super Princess Peach. Black boxes with a skull and crossbones drop out Torpedo Teds. They move fairly fast and are hard to move around in Soda Lake's close quarters.
Torpedo Teds make a guest appearance in Stage 2 of Turtle Zone in Super Mario Land: 6 Golden Coins. They appear as Bill Blasters found only underwater.
Torpedo Teds are also found in underwater areas of Super Princess Peach. Many are under the influence of the Vibe Scepter, turning them into Glad Torpedo Teds.
Appearances in Other Media
A Torpedo Ted, though not named as such, appeared in the final episode of the Super Mario World cartoon.
In the episode, entitled "Mama Luigi", Luigi and Yoshi, after narrowly escaping a pursueing Rip Van Fish, are attacked by a manic looking Torpedo Ted. Chasing Luigi and Yoshi to the surface, this Torpedo Ted misses Luigi and Yoshi after they are saved by two Dolphins.
