What's the hell?

Okay, this is a list of implied locations right? And hell here means a place of suffering after life stated in various religions. The Ashley message refers to a place, the your mother joke refers to a place. But, does hell in "He's one hell of a guy" refers to the place? Sorry, I just don't know those kind of english words.Dry Bones in Paper MarioCount Bonsula I need blood...Ml2 drybones.png

It doesn't, so I removed it. Hello, I'm Time Turner.

In BiS, bowser says " 'Marching right ahead into the enemy's feet!' Didn't you guys memorize that line in Goomba boot camp!?

Goomstar Temple actually Crystal Palace?

"Goomstar" sounded too weird to be a likely location, so I attempted a "reverse translation" of the name, and got 「クリスター」 ("kurisuta-"), which sounds really similar to "Crystal" and is actually part of the Crystal Palace's Japanese name: 「クリスターしんでん」. The "kuri" part matches the beginning of the Goombas' Japanese name, 「クリボー」 ("kuribo-"). Similarly, 「スター」 ("suta-") means "star", but had been used in place of 「スタル」 ("sutaru") in the Crystal Palace's Japanese name, implying that it translates to "Crystar Shrine".

I don't know about you, but I think I can see how a translator for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door can get "Goomstar" out of 「クリスター」 ("kurisuta-") without prior knowledge of Paper Mario (Nintendo 64).

The trivia on the Koopook page mentions other translations say it's Crystal Palace. Good eye! --Glowsquid (talk) 12:44, 23 May 2016 (EDT)

Italy

"Italy" redirects to here, but there's no specific section for the country. At most, there's the one like from the Alps section, but that alone doesn't warrant the Italy redirect. I also cannot find any mention of Italy on the wiki beyond strictly-real life references. Does anyone have any ideas? Hello, I'm Time Turner. 20:13, 27 June 2016 (EDT)

Don't Mario and Luigi visit Venice, making them technically in Italy and therefore, not making Italy an implied location? Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 19:04, 28 June 2016 (EDT)

MKT Los Angeles Tour

Since Los Angeles is going to be the next setting for the next tour in Mario Kart Tour, should Los Angeles have its own page once the new tour comes up? SonicSpeed48 (talk) 00:10, September 20, 2020 (EDT)

I think it's fine here and as a brief entry, since the track will likely have a different name than this. The track looks like it's inspired by areas surrounding Los Angeles, though, since the actual city isn't anywhere near a beach. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 00:24, September 20, 2020 (EDT)
Now that all three variants of the course have been released, Los Angeles technically isn't implied anymore, so should it be split into its own page? Wario (Cowboy) from Mario Kart TourWildWario (talk) 04:06, April 17, 2022 (EDT)

The Monty Mole Underground City

I do not see why the Monty Mole Underground City that was mentioned in a Monty Mole bio for a flyer seen in Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 had to be deleted. First of all, no area in Super Mario World resembles an underground city (even the levels that feature Mega Moles) so I believe it was not just some random underground area. And another reason is that a Monty Mole city is mentioned in KC Mario under the name Pū tairiku (I will make a page for it once I get to it), so a city populated by Monty Mole species has been shown at least once. Finally, this area from what we know does seem to be unique so it is possible that the bio was hinting of the existence of an unseen city that is populated by Moles (similar to Breezy Tunnel or the Mogera Matsuri), and also Monty Moles never appeared in any underground levels in Super Mario World (with Mega Moles appearing primarily). So yes, I think the city should be added back. If anyone opposes please state your reasonings so we can discuss this. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 23:06, November 13, 2021 (EST)

Also should we list the bank and poor house that the Monty Mole auctioneer mentions in Paper Mario: The Origami King? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 01:29, November 14, 2021 (EST)

I agree with Sdman123 that the bank and poor house are not significant enough to be mentioned here. That sort of thing is mentioned all the time throughout the franchise, and treating each one as an implied location is just going overboard. Split Los Angeles from this page

Proposal.svg This talk page section contains an unresolved talk page proposal. Please try to help and resolve the issue by voting or leaving a comment.

Los Angeles isn't "implied" anymore. It appears as the main setting of the three Los Angeles Laps courses, so I think it deserves its own article. Though it will likely be short due to the lack of appearances other than Mario Kart Tour and a mention in Mario is Missing! if it's created.

EDIT:I've added an option to make the Los Angeles a redirect to Los Angeles Laps. If this option wins, then Singapore is probably going to get the same treatment.

Split Los Angeles into its own page

  1. WildWario (talk) Preferred option.
  2. Hewer (talk) Per proposal (though we'd have to split Singapore as well).

Make Los Angeles a redirect to Los Angeles Laps

  1. WildWario (talk) Second option.
  2. Bazooka Mario (talk) Per comment.
  3. Ray Trace (talk) Take that, LA.
  4. Mario4Ever (talk) Per Bazooka Mario.

Don't split Los Angeles at all

Comments

Not going to oppose yet but honestly this proposal doesn't sit that well with me. Pretty much all of the information that would be split is already here (a whopping three sentences). Do we really need an entire article for this for having some Mario Kart courses based on it and being given an off-hand mention in one other game? --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 12:24, April 21, 2022 (EDT)

At the very least it should be removed from this list, since it's not implied anymore, and the only other way I could think to cover it would be a split. Hewer A Hamburger in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. (talk · contributions · edit count) 12:47, April 21, 2022 (EDT)
I'll add the LA landmarks into the page, which should extend the length. Wario (Cowboy) from Mario Kart TourWildWario (talk) 22:35, April 21, 2022 (EDT)

Uh very pedantically, I point out the location actually takes place in Santa Monica, though Santa Monica is in the Los Angeles county. Los Angeles is technically still a suggested location. The other variants mostly take place in Los Angeles. Wario (Cowboy) from Mario Kart TourWildWario (talk) 22:35, April 21, 2022 (EDT)
IDK for the Laps 2, the Ferris Wheel is apparent in the background, and that's usually a hallmark Santa Monica indicator. As for the third, it's also Santa Monica, with the ocean being visible (downtown LA is nowhere near the ocean) and also Santa Monica locations like Tongva Park. Again though, I'm being suuuuuper technical, so don't take my comments suuuuuper seriously.

I'm not going to support the proposal but I will definitely support just redirecting "Los Angeles" to "Los Angeles Laps" and then there can be a section talking about the locales there.
