Prickly Piranha Plants are a new sub-species of Piranha Plant in the game Super Mario Galaxy 2. They resemble giant black Piranha Plants covered in red spikes. There is only one of these enemies in the entire game and it's encountered in the Sky Station Galaxy during the "Storming the Sky Fleet" mission. The enemy holds a key to the locked up Power Star nearby. It attacks the same way its spikeless purple variant attacks: by slamming its head onto the ground. However, the player cannot jump on it due to its spikes so they will need to use the nearby Stretch Plant to defeat it.
