The Red Star is an item appears in Super Mario Galaxy. It holds the power of red Luma just as the Beam Stars hold the power of blue Luma and Star Rings and Spring Stars hold the power of yellow Luma. It gives Mario the ability to fly freely through the air, similar to the Wing Cap from Super Mario 64. When obtaining this, his outfit changes. He dons a black cap, black overalls, and a red shirt. Though he flies more freely and his arms send a red trail behind him. He is also able to stop in mid-air, stay in one place, and change direction. It will be used to collect items in the sky.
